Making a neck profile is theoretically easy but in practice, it’s hard!
Using foam core poster board, it is pretty easy in practice!
I hope these are clear.
- Foam core piece before a rough cutout.
- Rough cut- out.
- Sand paper. Rough grit ok, but keep pieces of grit away from your guitar.
- Start to sand….
- With the sand paper wrapped around the neck, the foam core board sands super quick. Note that I’m keeping the lower edge flat in line with the fingerboard (+ fret)
- Test fit around the 5th fret
- The profile will fit further up the neck. It will be slightly deeper because of the fret height.
Nice! How does something like that work for Multi-String necks?
