Jason wound up his residency as he strung up his guitar.
Well it had strings on, but only a few frets. Still he got pretty far on it. Way to go Jason!
He has his own techniques! Some of his techniques are very effective, but still he learned some stuff while in residence here. He created a special rig for gluing on the back of the guitar, totally unlike anything I’ve seen (Don’t try this at home kids!) Here are few of the pictures I snapped while he was in the shop.
The back and side wood is Padauk. Supposedly it turns brown after oxidizing, but it is orange-red now.
While he was here, we had a couple machine failures. This type of thing happens when machines are used more. The table saw needed a belt. I drove to Abbotsford to get a new belt…It just happened to have his name on it! Anyway, it was illuminating have Jason in the shop for a month. Education! Learn, Learn, Learn.
