Top for Larry’s II

I chose the best top. I felt that it was the Micah top. And then I made the worlds most beautiful rosette for it and inlaid it into the world’s best spruce top.

Larry liked (loved, bonded, enjoyed…) his guitar that he immediatlely (after a pause to ask himself if he was crazy) ordered a second. It will have a smaller body, like a Romanillos plan, again with some awesome rosewood. But choosing … Continue reading

Rescue the Rose

FACE OFF!

I made this guitar for myself about 3 years ago. The date is 3 weeks into the survival of my heart attack. I have made guitars that I would not mind having, but since my first guitar in 1970, I haven’t dedicated one to myself.
This one was inspired by a couple of Paulino Bernabe guitars that haunted me.

Anyway, luthing can be humbling at times. When I glued the bridge on this guitar, the top actually cracked. First time for everything. I repaired the crack and played it (it was great) but it developed something that annoyed me, and I decided to give it a fresh start.
First, the top must be removed….

Coming soon… a rescue!
