Again with the new face! A new top for my personal guitar. It is not a Bernabe
With the top off, I can rescue the rosette. I could make a new one, but I like re-using if possible.
I made this guitar for myself about 3 years ago. The date is 3 weeks into the survival of my heart attack. I have made guitars that I would not mind having, but since my first guitar in 1970, I haven’t dedicated one to myself.
This one was inspired by a couple of Paulino Bernabe guitars that haunted me.
Anyway, luthing can be humbling at times. When I glued the bridge on this guitar, the top actually cracked. First time for everything. I repaired the crack and played it (it was great) but it developed something that annoyed me, and I decided to give it a fresh start.
First, the top must be removed….
Coming soon… a rescue!
Working on Nacio’s 8.

OK. I do roses one at a time. There are similarities, and I do duplicates, but I don’t just churn them out. There is something like inspiration that I need. This one is for a very exciting player, Nacio, who has a six stringer I built…
An 8 string neck requires more material and thought. It’s been about 8 years since I’ve done and 8 string. I’ve been constructing the pieces…
Making a neck profile is theoretically easy but in practice, it’s hard!
Using foam core poster board, it is pretty easy in practice!
I hope these are clear.
